The world of haute couture and gourmet chocolate collided at Salon du Chocolat’s Chocolate Fashion Show in London. The National Hall at Olympia in Kensington was transformed into a chocolate lover’s paradise, featuring live catwalk presentations, demonstrations, interactive workshops, and tastings from acclaimed chocolatiers and chefs.
The highlight of the evening was the Chocolate Couture show, where models paraded in breathtaking chocolate creations. Lindt’s “Eternal Diamond” dress, a strapless masterpiece weighing 50 kg and crafted from chocolate and chili, was a showstopper designed by Lauren Smith, the 2013 Graduate Fashion Week winner.
Among the many exquisite designs, Mark Tilling of Squires Kitchen presented an elegant and beautifully crafted chocolate dress that captured the essence of chocolate artistry.
Artisan du Chocolat’s “Alaya” dress, designed by Sabina Motasem, was a vision in white, caramel, and dark chocolate. Adorned with chocolate pearls and sugar diamonds, and complemented by a Kelly Spence tulle veil trimmed with intricate chocolate lace, it was a testament to the versatility of chocolate as a fashion medium.
Fruitful Blooms, specializing in bespoke artistic chocolate creations, partnered with British designer swimwear brand Bikini Fling to create a striking chocolate bikini with a matching cover-up. This innovative design highlighted the potential of chocolate in creating unconventional and eye-catching fashion pieces.
French patissier and chocolatier Les Sucreries de Mélodie presented a whimsical creation adorned with cupcakes, macarons, and edible brooches. This playful design showcased the fun and imaginative side of chocolate fashion.
Hotel Chocolat unveiled a life-size chocolate cocoa tree, a testament to the brand’s commitment to cocoa and its origins. This impressive sculpture served as a centerpiece, highlighting the importance of cocoa in the chocolate-making process.
Attendees had the opportunity to indulge in tastings from leading chocolate companies, including Artisan du Chocolat, Paul a Young, Rococo, Hotel Chocolat, and many more. Iain Burnett – The Highland Chocolatier presented intricately decorated chocolates in a beautifully designed box, perfect for a special gift.
ChocoMe’s tempting display featured brilliant flavor combinations that tantalized taste buds, showcasing the brand’s innovative approach to chocolate creation.
