ASIAN BRANDS 60: Recognizing Asia’s Fashion Leaders
The “ASIAN BRANDS 60” project aims to identify and honor 60 individuals significantly impacting the Asian fashion landscape. A diverse committee of members from various Asian countries will select the honorees based on market influence and accomplishments. This initiative seeks to globally showcase these key figures and their contributions to Asian Brands Fashion.
The 60 selected individuals for the 2025 awards will be announced on the official “ASIAN BRANDS 60” website in late January 2025. An exclusive, invitation-only reception in Tokyo on February 6, 2025, will celebrate these individuals alongside distinguished guests.
The ASIAN BRANDS 60 Committee: A Panel of Experts
The selection committee consists of six influential figures from various fields, including fashion and music:
- Zaneta Cheng: Editor-in-Chief of Hong Kong’s #LEGEND fashion magazine.
- Jeffry Joew: Founder of USS Indonesia, Southeast Asia’s largest streetwear media platform.
- Jaeson Ma: Co-Founder of 88rising, a global platform promoting Asian music and culture.
- Jing Zhang: Former Global Editor-in-Chief of Jing Daily and Fashion Editor of South China Morning Post.
- Kang Seung Hyuk: Founder of WORKSOUT, a prominent streetwear retailer in Korea.
- Pint Anupong K.: Founder of Carnival, a popular streetwear brand from Bangkok.
These committee members bring their expertise to ensure a thorough and impactful selection process, recognizing the rising influence of Asian brands fashion. Each member shared their enthusiasm for highlighting Asian talent and the significance of this award in bolstering the global presence of Asian designers.
SIXTYPERCENT: Championing Asian Brands Fashion
SIXTYPERCENT Co., Ltd. is hosting the “ASIAN BRANDS 60” project. The company’s leadership, including Co-founder and COO Nanae Matsuoka and advisor Verbal (CEO of AMBUSH), are instrumental in this initiative. Art direction is led by award-winning branding expert Takaya Mitsunaga of HYTEK Inc., with Yamato Holdings Co., Ltd. as the official sponsor.
Matsuoka emphasized the growing global recognition of Asian fashion, particularly with the rise of K-Fashion, and the desire to create a platform showcasing Asian brands to a wider audience. Verbal expressed his hope for the awards to further amplify the global impact of Asian creativity.
