Bloom Fashion Takes Center Stage at Rockford Art Museum’s In Bloom Event

The Rockford Art Museum’s eighth annual In Bloom exhibition will be held at the Union Event Space in downtown Rockford due to ongoing construction at the museum. From June 12th to 16th, designers will showcase their creativity by interpreting pieces from the museum’s Permanent Collection using flowers and organic materials within the historic Union Event Space. The unique setting will provide a stunning backdrop for the artistic floral installations.

A highlight of the week-long event is Fashion in Bloom, taking place on Friday, June 14th. This year’s runway show will feature fresh floral accessories and living couture created by talented regional designers. Local fashion boutique B Jones will also present vibrant clothing designs, adding to the evening’s stylish atmosphere. The event promises an engaging experience with heavy hors d’oeuvres, a cash bar, and music provided by Luxe Productions.

Tickets for Fashion in Bloom are limited and require reservations. Proceeds from the event will support the Rockford Art Museum’s exhibitions and programs, making it a worthwhile cause for fashion and art enthusiasts. The collaboration between florists and fashion designers creates a truly unique spectacle.

A dedicated committee, co-chaired by Karen Archer, Dana Martin, and Liz Schaer, along with members Sarah Axelson, Jordan Calgaro, Bridget Finn, Julie Humpal, Carrie Johnson, Karen Sletten, and Lisa Wheeler, has organized Fashion in Bloom. In addition to the talented florists, the event is supported by various sponsors. Union Event Space serves as the presenting sponsor, with additional support from the Dean Alan Olson Foundation, Bill Doran Company, and numerous individual and corporate sponsors.
