Ladies Fashion Watches: Philipp Plein’s Rainbow Collection

Philipp Plein, in collaboration with Timex Luxury, has released a series of playful and eye-catching watches, including a range of rainbow-themed pieces. While not strictly for watch enthusiasts, these timepieces offer a fun and fashionable alternative for those seeking a bold statement piece. Plein’s designs often incorporate elements reminiscent of other luxury brands like Hublot, Rolex, and Patek Philippe, but with a distinct focus on contemporary trends. The current obsession with rainbow hues is evident in several new models, showcasing Plein’s commitment to playful and vibrant designs.

The women’s Philipp Plein $pectre Lady and the men’s Philipp Plein $keleton Royal Automatic are two prime examples of this trend. Both feature bezels adorned with colorful baguette-cut synthetic stones, creating a dazzling rainbow effect. Hexagon shapes, echoing the brand’s logo, and skull motifs are also recurring design elements, adding a touch of edginess to the overall aesthetic.

The $pectre Lady, a 38mm steel quartz watch with 50 meters of water resistance, draws inspiration from the Patek Philippe Aquanaut. Its light silver dial features a subtle hexagon pattern, ensuring legibility without sacrificing style. The rainbow bezel, set with Preciosa crystals, adds a glamorous and feminine touch. Notably, the specific colors used in the rainbow bezels differ between the men’s and women’s models, further emphasizing their respective masculine or feminine appeal. The $pectre Lady comes with a textured white silicone strap, combining bold style with everyday comfort.

The 46mm $keleton Royal Automatic, crafted from black IP-coated steel with 50 meters of water resistance, boasts a more robust and masculine design reminiscent of the Hublot Big Bang. The contrast between the playful rainbow bezel and the dark tones and skull motifs creates a striking visual impact. This timepiece embraces a sense of fun and self-deprecation, a quality often lacking in more serious luxury brands. The watch is topped with a mineral crystal and is powered by a Japanese-made NH70A automatic movement.

The Skeleton Royal Automatic houses a Japanese NH70A automatic movement, offering a semi-skeletonized view and approximately two days of power reserve. The watch features a comfortable black silicone strap with perforations and cushioning, ensuring a pleasant wearing experience despite its larger size. Alternative versions of this model are available with a tonneau-shaped case.

While Philipp Plein introduced its first tourbillon watch in 2024 as part of the “Crypto King” collection, the majority of its watches remain affordably priced, generally under $1,000 and often closer to $500. These watches serve as an accessible entry point into the larger Philipp Plein brand, appealing to mainstream consumers seeking fashionable and spirited timepieces. The $pectre Lady Crystal is priced at $530 USD, while the $keleton Royal Automatic is $880 USD.
