Fashion Bags: A Review of My Designer Handbag Collection

Investing in designer Fashion Bags is a significant decision. While it might not have always been a priority, I’ve amassed a collection over time, each with its own story. I believe in careful consideration before making such a purchase, often waiting months to ensure it’s the right fit. Here’s a breakdown of my collection, highlighting the favorites and those that haven’t stood the test of time.

The Prada Re-Edition 2005 Saffiano Leather Bag, retailing for $2,550, became a staple after consistently using a similar crossbody style. Its versatility allows for crossbody, shoulder, and clutch configurations. The detachable coin purse adds extra functionality. The timeless color ensures year-round wear, making it one of my most-used bags. The Saffiano leather is incredibly durable and resistant to dirt, maintaining its pristine condition. Prada’s quality justifies the higher price point.

The Prada Emblème Saffiano Bag, with a retail price of $3,950, was a cherished gift. Crafted from the same durable Saffiano leather as the Re-Edition, it features a subtle cross-hatch texture. Its simplicity and classic design make it an effortless choice for everyday use. The versatile handle allows for both crossbody and shoulder wear.

The YSL Le 5 à 7 Bag, priced at $2,400, is aesthetically captivating with its 90s hobo vibe. While visually stunning, its open design without zippers or closures limits its practicality for daily use. It serves as a perfect occasion bag for dinners or events, but for everyday functionality, other options are more suitable.

The YSL Solferino Medium Satchel, retailing at $3,200, offers a classic, everyday design. It provides ample storage and a sturdy structure. While functional as a shoulder bag, the crossbody option sits a bit high, lacking a couple of inches for ideal waist placement. The high-quality, thick leather contributes to its luxurious feel.

The Coach Pillow Tabby Shoulder Bag 18, priced at $395, presents a more affordable designer option. Its compact size perfectly accommodates essentials like a phone, credit card, and lip balm. The pillow style adds a trendy touch while maintaining a classic silhouette. This bag served as my go-to summer accessory, effortlessly complementing various outfits.

The YSL Lou Camera Bag in Quilted Leather, with a retail price of $1,690, marked my first designer bag purchase. Available in beige and black, this crossbody bag offers ample space and a secure zipper closure. However, the quilted style, while trendy at the time of purchase, now feels less timeless, impacting its current usage.

The Gucci GG Marmont Small Shoulder Bag, priced at $2,550, is a classic Gucci design. Its convertible shoulder/crossbody strap adds functionality. While holding essentials, the interior space is surprisingly limited. The creamy off-white color remains appealing, but the chevron pattern feels somewhat dated.

Other designer fashion bags in my collection include the Saint Laurent Jamie Quilted Bouclé-Tweed Shoulder Bag, Chloé Marcie Leather Saddle Bag, and Chloé Pixie Crossbody Bag, each with its own unique characteristics and reasons for less frequent use. My wishlist includes the Coach Tabby Shoulder Bag 26, YSL Cassandra Mini Top Handle Bag, YSL Rive Gauche Supple Tote Bag, Bottega Veneta Teen Jodie, and Jacquemus Le Grand Bambino, reflecting my evolving style and preferences in designer handbags.
